Thalía’s new reality as an artist, mother and influencer in the midst of the pandemic

The Mexican singer and actress identifies with the thousands of mothers who today face quarantine in the midst of their daily work responsibilities, their children's virtual classes, the next elections and the future of the country.

The Mexican actress and singer Thalía, mother of Sabrina and Mathew, lives a reality very similar to that surely many Latin women are living today in the middle of this COVID-19 pandemic.

The fact of being a celebrity does not make her unaware of this situation that keeps thousands of families in the world in quarantine to try to avoid the spread of the coronavirus that still does not have an approved vaccine for immediate distribution.

However, this Mexican artist and influencer says that she has taken on the task of fulfilling her role in society and industry around this problem, because she knows that despite the restrictions and sanitary rules that must be followed, she as an artist, she knows that music has not stopped and, on the contrary, it has turned out to be the balm to face this new reality in the confinement of quarantine, where artists have had the responsibility of staying afloat to offer calm to their art, their fans and keep their people entertained.

That same confinement has made celebrities like her live closely in the global problem that does not distinguish social class and affects entire families. The artist even comments in the interview that her children, like yours, are attending their virtual classes and like everyone else, they have the same problems of connection, printing and communication with teachers because of the saturation of the network and its connections via Zoom with the School District, the same connection with which the Los Angeles Times had the opportunity to talk with the singer of Amor a la Mexicana, Arrasando, Piel Morena and many other classics of her extensive repertoire.

In the midst of this situation that affects us all, Thalía says that she has been in contact with her followers through her networks bringing them joy and accompanying them in their loneliness, offering them advice and sharing her experiences inside and outside the house to talk to them of their launches and their new projects.

But the novelty that Thalía offers at the moment is a musical duet that seems to set the new course for her musical fusion proposal. Throughout her career, the 49-year-old star from Mexico City has done countless duets and collaborations with contemporary artists ranging from Romeo Santos, through Prince Royce, Maluma, Marc Anthony, Michael Bublé, Tony Bennett, Robbie Williams, even the most recent along with Mau y Ricky, Pablo Vittar and the latest Myke Towers, with whom she has just turned on La Luz ("The Light") of her new path in music thanks to the talent of the music producer known in the industry as Tainy.

And since we are talking about collaborations, that led us to talk about the recent celebration of the tenth anniversary of her album En Primera Fila that now arrives in its vinyl version. This was an album recorded totally live in which Thalía included a duet with the late Joan Sebastián and a then unknown named Pedro Capó, who today is one of the great stars of urban pop music, winner of the Latin Grammy.

In this interview, Thalía also took the opportunity to talk about her recent release of her second album for children Viva Kids Vol. 2, which she decided to do in the midst of her strong urban productions that she now offers to her fans, but like her, she told us, "as a mother I also feel the need to offer appropriate material for our children with a message according to their age". This material, precisely, was presented in a live link through the Discovery Kids YouTube channel, which was a success with thousands of reproductions.

Finally, the star of the youth told us about the power that young people have in their hands through voting and she, as an influencer of millions of followers, wanted to send a message for the next Presidential elections and the importance of going out to vote this year for the future of their lives.
