Mrs. Mainstream
If we talk about trajectory, figure, validity and innovation, ultimately we talk about Thalía. After sharing space with her, it is easy to guess how it has become synonymous with adjectives associated with her success. Her artistic nature is full of balance and good vibes, elements that she reflects in this exclusive session by Bulgari for Marie Claire.

Sweater, Herve Leger (US$1,090 or US$1,151.48)
Bracelet, Bulgari Serpenti Bracelet (€31,000.00 Including Taxes)

We all know her for her facet as a singer or actress, but we rarely see her as the incredible woman who was a blogger before she knew the term; that she did urban before we heard the first beat of this genre, and that she pioneered the study of cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

The first telenovela I saw was, Marimar. I remember being at my grandparents' house: my parents left me there because they were moving for the tenth times of my life. My dad is in the military, and with that comes the responsibility of following him wherever he goes. Seeing Thalía was spectacular: she was so funny, so full of life, and not for a moment did I imagine that she would be seeing the same thing as me, in another place. "It's funny that you tell me that you like my house, because I've always said that I'm a gypsy for life. Before I got married, my mother and I moved about twelve times. Since I've lived with Tommy (Mottola, producer), they add up another fourteen. I am an expert in reaching any place and making it mine", she confesses before my surprised eyes.

Her face, which today appears on the cover of this magazine, is known worldwide. She is a pioneer in everything: from melodramas, to music, even mixing rap and pop before any of your favorite urban artists were born. She changed everything musically, and she did it for one reason: The Barrio... yes, like María la del Barrio.

"In the first years of my life I grew up in a very folkloric neighborhood, Santa María La Rivera, and when I went out to the street, to church, to the market, from all the windows in the neighborhood you heard mariachi, salsa, pop, there was also ballads, but also The Beatles. Everything. So I grew up with that musical influence. My father played Jorge Negrete, Chavela Vargas, Los Panchos, while my mother played Vicky Carr, Rocío Durcal, and my sisters played Donna Summer, to Barry White, it was then too much influence, I grew up with that. When I started my solo career (Thalía, 1990), everything was rock, because I brought more rebellion, although I came from a very pop world".

While we continue talking about music, I have to ask him about what she thinks of the new talents, of the people who do different things now, and she is surprised by how easy they are to mix everything, to change what is established. "I love it because I feel that I was always against what could not be done."

Thalía is not what she seems. Don't get me wrong, she is a real star, one of those that will never go out, but with the benefit that she can be many more things. Or did you know that she is an expert in cryptocurrencies, and that she actually has something like an NFT Twitter program?

"I've always been kind of a nerd, I loved everything that was programming, understanding what the web was and how to use a computer, so for me it was like a need to learn new things, since I was a child, having a computer, programming things, like put them on the net, and later, with the arrival of the dot com, I was one of the first to have its own page and there it had everything: what we now call selfie, or blogs, I have had all of that there for years and years."

Suddenly her pet, Francesca, interrupts us, and that's why I dare to ask her about her children, Sabrina and Matthew, who enjoy the summer while mom works, the moment they found out that she was Thalía the singer, the one who appeared in soap operas, and that their father was a major producer who was at one point head of Sony Music.

"They have been beginning to understand it for three years now. They had an idea of our work, especially because they see the people around us, we are always immersed in projects, in the lens of the cameras. Before they did not understand, but now they do." They know and are very respectful, they support us a lot, because they know that sometimes we arrive tired of working and they ask us a little more about what we do."
