Miami (USA), April 17 (EFE) - Mexican singer Thalía released her new album Todo Suena Mejor En Cumbia (2026) this Friday, in which she combines collaborations with renowned artists, such as Mexican Yuri, and emerging artists, such as Argentinian Valen, while maintaining cumbia as the central element.
"Cumbia has always lived within me (...). In my home, in my childhood, in the way I understand music and joy. This album is very special because it allowed me to embrace my memories and emotions from a different perspective, with the woman I am today," Thalía said in a statement.
"There's something really beautiful about being able to connect generations through a rhythm that never goes out of style, that always invites you to feel, to remember and to celebrate," the artist added.
The album consists of nine tracks, including her recent releases Ojitos Mexicanos and Boomerang.
The rest of the songs include duets with Valen, the Mexican band Matisse, Yuri, Grupo Máximo Grado and Los Ángeles Azules.
In addition, she covers great hits like Dancing Queen and Cariño Mío.
The artist emphasized that cumbia has been a genre that has contributed greatly to her musical career, and that she felt she wanted to bring "that energy to these songs, reinterpret them and give them a new life (...) because in the end everything sounds better in cumbia."
This new project is now available on all digital platforms. Its release comes two weeks before Thalía is honored on April 29th with the Icon Award at the Billboard Women in Music gala for her more than three decades in the music industry.
