The singer releases single Psyco B**ch on streaming platforms and, in an exclusive interview with Quem, details the creative process and talks about her fascination with the digital age: "fanatic for social networks".

After the album desAMORfosis, released in May 2021, which brought singles such as Mojito and Ya Tú Me Conoces, Thalía announces a new pop song that marks her return to the musical universe. The song Psycho B**ch, which arrives on streaming platforms this November 4th, tells the story of a person who frees herself to have both good and bad sides in terms of relationships.

In an exclusive interview with Quem in a video call, the singer says that she had a creative process with the team, but that after feeling that the song did not have exactly what she wanted to say, she sat down alone to remake it.

"The song is called Psycho B**ch and that's what I call myself. And what's the problem with being like that? It's about being explosive sometimes and that's who I am. I'm always honest and real. If that bothers you, then I think I'm a psychotic bitch. So it's kind of bringing that conversation to the table and assuming that everybody has that side deep down. Everyone has a little bit of the psycho bitch aspect, and it's just a matter of embracing that part of yourself. Music is very happy and very moving", she begins, good-naturedly, explaining the creative process below.

"I received the track and fell in love with the music. I was like, this is me! I had to go to the studio and I'm going to start writing, and I did it with two girls. So we wrote the song and it was really cool, I sang it. But when I kept listening and listening, I thought it didn't match up with what I wanted to say. The melody was powerful, but something was still missing from the lyrics. So I started from scratch in my room. I sat on the floor with a pen and paper and started rewriting everything. When I finished, I thought, 'Now it's me'. This is the music, this is the concept. I recorded the next day. Sometimes things happen that way, but it was the first time it happened to me, to rewrite everything," she says.

Thalía is also dealing with the new era of promoting music through streaming. Until last year, for example, she released an entire album, desAMORfosis. Now, she understands the universe of bringing just one single to the air telling a story entirely separate from an album.

"I came from a teaching that when you release a work, the whole album is like a body. The record has a story from the first song to the last song. That's how I learned to create music and release albums. These days, people just release singles, and that's okay, that's awesome. It has to do with the freedom to release just one song. Like now, I've released Psycho B**ch and singing electronic and pop. Do you want to go to the club? Yup. Want to dance to the music? Yup. So that gives freedom. I love it, I think it's fantastic. I love the idea that everything can coexist. This era is magical and I want to enjoy it", she details.

The singer celebrates the new phase of the phonographic market with the streaming era, especially because she can palpably see the engagement with her work. The first impressions of the fans, in fact, were the best. According to Thalía, with a demo of the clip released on her Instagram she can understand the acceptance thermometer and see who clicked, who liked and who shared the song the most.

"That's why it's interesting, because it allows you to understand your fans better, so you can focus and redirect everything in a different way. I'm super fanatical about social media and the digital age," she says, who currently handles her 20 million followers on Instagram, another 11.6 million on TikTok, and 9.7 million on Twitter.

Thalía even currently considers herself another digital influencer in her daily life, due to her direct contact with fans. However, she insists that she will never let go of her other artistic sides.

"My idea is not to have a specific box to put myself in. I want to do everything. I love my social media, just like I love making music. I love acting. I love doing business. I love writing books, my podcast, writing songs. So I can't just pick one specific thing. Everything makes me who I am", she points out.

Love for Brazil
Thalía says she is passionate about Brazilian fans and admits that she considers the country one of the destinations when she goes on tour.

"I love them. They are so passionate. I love Brazil. Seriously. I have to say I have the best memories of when I went there. The best food, the people, the laughter, the dancing, I really had the best. I had the best moments of my life every time I went to Brazil, so I hope I can come back soon. I really mean it. And I just want them to dance to this song and have fun with it", celebrates, without concretely saying any possibility of a date to come.

Multifaceted
The artist is one of the most influential female personalities in the Latin industry. Thalía has a career as a singer, songwriter, actress, author, stylist, businesswoman and influencer. Currently, she impacts more than two billion people around the world with the soap operas in which she was the protagonist, in addition to reaching the music charts scene.
