Thalía invites you to a night of intense party in desAMORfosis, an album in which she opened the doors of her heart wide, but without stopping dancing or giving it a touch of mojito flavor.

The title of the album released on Friday is a combination of "heartbreak", "love" and "metamorphosis", three elements with which Thalía sought to take listeners through all the nuances of a relationship. It starts off quiet and evolves until you hit the dance floor before ending on a more introspective and intimate note.

"It is an internal journey, it is a nailing to my emotions, my heartbreak, my loves and that metamorphosis of what has happened in all these years in my life that has turned me into the woman who is here with you", Thalía said in a recent interview by video call from New York.

"From beginning to end I tell the story, from the first touch, the first approach to love, that crossing of eyes... to when you let go, when you are blind with love, when the blindfold falls off, when they break you the heart," said Thalía.

For the singer, it is precisely in the lack of love where there is a greater learning, despite the pain.

"The scrapes, the broken hearts, the shattered ego in the body without strength, I think that is where the growth comes... the metamorphosis, the change of skin," she said. "And at the end of the day, in all this walk of love, you come to the conclusion that, if you don't start out loving yourself and if it's not about self-love, you will never be able to find that person who is ideal for you... It starts with you. It starts with loving you. Love yourself, respect yourself, like yourself, pamper yourself ".

DesAMORfosis fuses different genres, from reggaeton to bachata, pop ballads and electronic music. It was created in Colombia, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Brazil. She has invited urban music stars like Jhay Cortez, Myke Towers and young producers like Tainy, Edgar Barrera, Maffio and Trooko.

"It is an album that brought together all these greats and all these names in an atmosphere of love and of wanting to do something with good energy, because we have definitely gone through these months and this year and we have had to make that internal leap yes or no. yes," said Thalía. "When we got together it was like that balm of doing something positive, something that you feel when you hear the first chords."

Some songs on the album are already fan favorites, such as Tick Tock featuring Farina and Sofia Reyes, which debuted on YouTube's Top Global Music Videos chart and reached the Top 20 on Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay. The video of Ya tú me conoces, with Mau and Ricky, has more than 17 million views on YouTube. This reggaeton is also surprising for the honesty of the lyrics: Thalía says rudely in the first verse against a lover who demands his absence after a night of drinking.

"My lifelong followers know that I am Thalía la del Barrio, she was not just a character, but that the neighborhood is still here," she said, referring to her emblematic character from the homonymous soap opera. "Being one becomes music, then that becomes Ya tú me conoces, it becomes Barrio, in all those songs that are on this album".

Within days of its release, Thalía presented the single Mojito live at the Latin Grammy Celebra Ellas y Su Música event at the Latin Recording Academy, and shortly afterwards uploaded the video to her YouTube account.

"I already saw myself at a 'pool party' in Las Vegas, everyone with their mojitos, singing with the DJ, but we are in a pandemic," said Thalía about the launch. "It's like looking for another way to continue creating 'hype' (advertising hype) on new platforms, on new ideas. I'm so excited because I think the song is too sexy."

Thalía says that in her career there have always been dualities: "Between the good girl and the sexy woman. Between the romantic girl and the aggressive woman. Between the one who sings of love and the world in pink and the one who sings Pacto entre los dos and sadomasochistic songs ".

But the constant has always been her ability to stay creative and surprise herself, something she doesn't want to stop doing when she turns 50 in August.

"I am excited, I am happy, I am grateful," said the artist. "God has been very generous to me, I have experienced so many wonderful things. I am starting my life in some way, I feel that every day is an opportunity to start. Energetically in terms of ideas and way of being, I feel that I am or I have stayed at 25. I feel with that strength and those ideas and those things, I am always there ".

And, of course, she also has advice for reaching, or trying to reach, five decades of life like her.

"I try to lead a super healthy life, with exercise, with correct nutrition, I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't take drugs, I try to spend it 'happy'", she said. "I think that is comforting and that gives you life back."
