At a very young age, she faced and addressed some serious challenges. But it said, her first forays as entertainer was at the ripe bold age of one. I have a good authority on appearing on a commercial. Paving the way for her destiny. Fast forward. She possesses five Billboard Latin Music awards, several Latin Grammy nominations as well as the President's Merit Award.

She's a *** both commercial and critical successes as a musical performer and she sold 50 millions album worldwide. That's right. 50 million albums. It's astounding.

She was honored with the Star Hollywood Walk of Fame. As an actress, she starred in several successful telenovelas. And what I understand is, 180 countries. I don't even know there was 180 countries. And, so that's got to be a record. And has have said, have reached over 2 billion... with a 'b'... 2 billion people.

She's launched successful clothing lines, eyewear, perfume, her own chocolate and candy. I know I'm missing other products.

She launched her own radio show.

She's dubbed as the Queen of the Soap Opera legitimately.

She's dubbed as the Queen of Latin Pop. For me, let's simply dubbed her as The Queen.

Ladies and gentlemen. Please welcome, The Queen.

Thalía: Ay... my Go[d]... that was so excitings to you. Seriously, thank you so much for having me here. I'm really excited, happy to share with everybody that is getting connected that... they've been waiting for this moment. And to share stories and to talk and have an amazing conversation... all of us together. As you can see. I'm in my studio that I turned into my Mixtape cave. And I'm really happy and I'm so so excited. I feel like a teenager with these whole new album. So, let's talk about it.

Steve: Yeah. Absolutely. You look like a teenager too, by the way. So I'll have what you're drinking. I want to remind fans that they can submit comments and questions for Thalía. By the way our chat section... and we get as many as we can. And in honor of Thalía's appearance tonight, we are also excited to announce we have just launched the Latin Music channel here on TalkShopLive to a tied to this broadcast. So great news there. So the Mixtape's, I love personally putting those together. Those mixtapes on cassette. So, tell us. Where you a big mixtape fan you are a teenager?

T: Oh my God. I was such a big fan. Of course, you know. Growing up in my house. My father was a big vinyl collectors. So, he had Frank Sinatra, he had like all this big bands or Nat King Cole and all of that. Then the era of the cassette arrives. So, finally, you can take your music wherever you go. Right? Your Walkman. Walkman. So, basically, (it) was like a now, for kids, the screen. Right? They have every thing in one screen. One touch. For us, that era was like magic. It was in the ???. It was bringing your music and yourself to wherever you went. So, yeah. I was a big, big fan of sitting in front of my... like this [pointing to a radio with cassette player].. actually like that. Right?

S: Boombox.

T: And. Yeah. But my boombox had two (decks), right? So... I got the double boombox.

S: That's great.

T: So, I used to do my medleys. Or I sat in front of it and I was for that song to appear on the radio... crossing my fingers so the DJ didn't talk and ruined my mixtape. So, it was such an adventure back in the day to colect music... to love music. It was hands on. Right? Versus now that everything is very accessible and I love that. But over there was tangible You could smell it. You could touch it. Feel it. Magical. So, I want it to bring that back. Like, my body, my essence as a singer, as a producer, as a creator... was to touch-base with that era of nostalgia... that mixtape. And of course, my Mixtape's where based constantly... constantly at the rock en español (Spanish rock) era. So, that was like, everything for me as a teenager. So this project is not Thalía as new album is Ariadna Thalía... the girl, the teenager reaching out to her fans and... I'm sorry... her idols. And telling them, 'Thank you. Thank you for what you did for me. Thank you for giving me hope. Thank you for giving me that idea of, like, yes I can reach my dreams and also I can be myself'. You know? It's ok to be different.

S: Thanks for sharing that. I'm curious, how difficult was to identify, determined which tracks would make the album? Because I know, there had to be more than 11 that resonated with you as a teenager. Where there's some good ones that fell shorter, didn't make the cut when you went through the whole process?

T: Oh my God. It was tough. Especially because this album is coming together with docuseries with Paramount+. So we're gonna have 3 episodes at the Paramount+ platform and all MTV is supporting this too. Of course, better partners I couldn't have. Right? And so, in each episode I revisit two of the mega, monster hits by the hand of their creators of their original singers and original bands. So, that was the first step and then we had to create a whole body of work that is the album that supported this incredible adventure. So, yeah...

S: That's great.

T: It was... it was tough to find them but no, because in every single mixtape... or playlist like you call it [now]adays(?)... in every single playlist I had the same songs over and over. I had Devuélveme a Mi Chica, I had Pachuco, I had (La) Muralla (Verde), I had Persiana Americana. All of these monster anthems.

S: Incredible. And it must have been a thrill for you to meet and interact with, you know, these idols of yours as a teenager.

T: You have no idea. You have no idea!

S: Why, I do!

T: Well you have!

S: I mean, I meet one right now. Look at this.

T: Oh, you're so sweet! But, imagine you like... you know... growing up as a teenager and you have... let's say who was your idol... Whatever you idol was.

S: The Beatles! I got to meet The Beatles.

T: Ok! All right. So, imagine that you are... you know... talking to them and then you asking him... like... how was the world back then? Before you came out and when you came out, what was the impact? What did you feel when from one day to the other you were international, a global phenomenon. What was behind this lyrics? What created the concept of this song? And then they tell you, 'wanna sing it with me?'. So it was like...

S: Oh my gosh.

T: It's the dream for every single fan.

S: Yeah. Where you've earned it though. But still, I know it took you back to your teenager years. It had to be incredible. And as I said. I'm kinda living that dream to some extent but I dont get to sing with you. And it's probably better for you career anyway. Well, let's talk about some of the tracks in the album. I mean, there... I mean... just from top to bottom... it's just a great album. So, Devuélveme a Mi Chica. Did I get that right?

T: Yeah. You did great. Perfect!

S: Give me back my girl. A great production, the energy, impossible not to want to dance to this track. I mean, the energy is incredible. Has an 80s feel, of course. But it doesn't sound dated. I mean, it's great is you can updated this album but you still left some flavor in as far as the 80s is concerned. And I think this is originally released around 1985 by Hombre G. Is that right?

T: Hombres G back then. Yeah. They released that song and, first of all, the struggle that I had in order to find them, it was real.

S: Is that right?

T: Because they are the royalty of this era, of this movement. Right? So they... they're protect(ing) themself and they have their own aura and their whole magic. And when I reached out and I had to do like... this kind of like... like inspector... you know like... why I can't find the manager, I cannot tell them... how can I talk to... talk to... And then when I got to talk to them. Fina(lly). First of all, managing my emotions as a fan was tough. Like... like.. 'David?' 'Hi, Thalía!'. I really... like... I have to cover my phone, like...

S: It's better that it wasn't on Zoom, right?

T: I had it muted. No. Exactly! And to, first of all, express to them how significant that presence, that persona, their actions impacted my life. And to thank them. And then to present to them this whole project, that idea that I have in my mind. Meaning, that I was going to create in this episodes with this project... a bridge. Meaning, like, I could be the bridge. And they could tell us everything that happened there and invite also the new generation to be part of it. The generation that right now is ruling the charts and they came from TikTok or from YouTube.

S: Right.

T: So this whole blend is so interesting and so powerful to amplified every thing that they did and they doing and gonna create with this movement.

S: That's so great. They are exposing it to multiple generations. Generations that didn't grow up with these same artists that you did. And, you know, one thing that's sure is that great music is great music regardless of when it was written or when it came out.

T: Exactly.

S: And you are demonstrating out with this album.

T: Exactly. Like, great music is what it is. Number one hit is a number one hit. And definitely... doing this from their perspective and playing with these masterpieces with them. That's what makes this so beautiful because they are here. They are playful with their gems. These are their gems.

S: That's right.

T: Right? And they're so generous to allow us as fans. 'Cause this I can is not Thalía doing this album. It's Ariadna, the teenager looking for her idols doing this. So, to be so generous to play with their fans this way is like on her. I'm very happy.

S: Yeah. This is groundbreaking for sure. And again, you know, you're truly original but these aren't like carbon copies. Again, you've updated it and of course you're adding your vocal on there too which as a ???. So, let's listen up better to this track from Thalía's Mixtape. And, Sam if you would be so kind to secure this up. Hopefully this internet won't go.

T: Oh my God, I'm so excited, guys! This is the premiere of... let's give it our all... Devuélveme a Mi Chica

S: There we go.

--- Plays preview of Devuélveme a Mi Chica ---

S: Great opening track. Outstanding. You know, if you want to hear the rest of it. You actually... you have to buy the album. That's how it work, folks. So, we are just giving you a taste of it. But ??? describe that right. It's just amazing. A lot of energy. Really exciting. Pachuco. Upbeat-driving track, energy...

T: Let me... let me go back to this past track. The second.

S: Oh yeah. Please.

T: Because. To be... when I told them. Like, 'David. You owe me as a fan. What you wrote on those lyrics. You said in those lyrics that you want to destroyed this guy's car. But I never saw you destroying his car. You told me, the lyrics, you wanna to burn his yellow sweater as a revenge. And you didn't do it. So, you wanna do it with me on this video?'

S: So great!

T: And for me to say him. Taking that, and like destroyed it, the hammer, and destroyed the car was like... for the fans, it's gonna be like... ahhh... well you wanted to sing.

S: I'm so glad you shared that. You know, it's probably theraphy form 'cause he's probably wanted to do that for forty years. So you taught him to unleashed that, right? That demon that he had.

T: Probably. Probably. But certainly for us... like... Hombres G fans, this is gonna be epic.

S: That's so great. So, Pachuco. Upbeat-driving track, energy charged musically. Killer performance. From you Thalía, for sure. And, as I understand. So Pachuco is a male who has kind of taste for flashy clothes... kind of style. A little bit of background as I understand it. I think this is originally released in 1991 if I'm not mistaken. 1991.

T: Pachuco is a song from an iconic Mexican band called La Maldita Vecindad. Like... probably, like 'the cursed neighborhood'. Probably that's the name of the band... translation. Probably. My English is ok. But the whole concept... like, Pachuco means a whole way of life. It was fashion. It was langugage. It was art. Because they were first ones doing grafitti as we know it these days. They were the first one dress as zoot suits. Remember those suits like that.

S: Zoot suits. Yeah.

T: The hats and the... So they were kinda, like, the first... the movement behind it. And Rocco that is the main iconic voice behind this song. He was telling me also they kinda were the first, the creators of the Spanglish as we know it. Because they didn't want everybody to understand what they were saying. So they spoke like Spanglish and they make some words as a code. So, everything that we talk about is so interesting. This is a docuseries but it's a musical too. I want it to be like a family show. Like, my son can sit here. My daughter, my friends, my husband. Everybody could enjoy it. But at the same time. You learn. You learn music from the vinyl to webtree to artificial intelligent. But also you explore the songs from you idols. Like, straight from you idol.

S: Absolutely.

T: So. Yeah. Pachuco is like a train. It's like a train that doesn't stop that goes like... it just like it takes you and is a ???. We respected the original DNA of the song. It was important to me to work with a friend in this project. My friend Aureo Baqueiro who produce this album with me. Imagine this story. You gonna appreciate this story and the fans that are here with us. I totally love... they gonna love this story. Aureo and I met when we were 15 years old. And he was the musician and I was the singer. And we tour through so many countries together and in the long rides in the buses and the airplanes, we share a headphones connected to our Walkman listening to rock en español mixtapes.

S: Incredible.

T: And I said. You're the only one that can understand this project. 'Cause we lived this project. It's in our system. And we can do it with respect. Honoring these anthems. Preserving the DNA but adding this new sound of the current sound that we are used to now. And so this is Pachuco. Be ready and get your ass moving 'cause this... this is... this is it.

S: Well said. I couldn't have said any better. You know, for sure. So, Florecita Rockera. This is one of my favorite in the album. Electrifying, fantastic vocals. I gets so energized... you know... when I listened to this one. Fun(?) break in the middle of the song. It takes a little bit of detour that powers right back in. I think the original was released in 1995.

T: By the Aterciopelados. That... it was a also great opportunity for women in music. 'Cause the lead singer, Andrea, was basically stepping on genre that was ruled by men. And she was, like, 'come here. I'm also a rocker. I have something to say. I want my microphone and I'm here to sing.' And I appreciate and I love that. Now everybody talks about the women empowerment and all of that. But this was one of the OGs. And to me, that she agreed to do this and she loved the project and Hector and Andrea were so participant in this project. When I told them, 'What it will be if we invite a guy. A kid from the new generation that just came through TikTok. And he is breaking everything and everybody loves his music. And he's so creative. And it [would] be fantastic if he put his input into this song.' And they love the idea and this is our version of Florecita Rockera.

S: I love that. And, Sam. If you would. Send me the link again so we can reach out to some of the fans. I just want to remind everyone that today's cause of great celebration the new Thalía's Mixtape album. That's right. The Queen of Latin Pop is delivering one of her best albums of her amazing career. Pack with energy, fun and total of 11 great songs. Whether you own every past albums or exploring Thalía for the very first time. This is a must own album and this officialy release on April 28th. However fans can purchase their copies right here, right now. Not only that, but the Queen of Latin Pop is personally signed copies of the album purchased here at TalkShopLive. And there's the cover and not only it can possessed a great new pop album but possessed an autographed copy directly from music's all time great performers, Thalía. Just hit the Buy button and the rest is quick and easy. And there's no better way to show great artist how much you care, how much you love them by purchasing their latest body of work. Thanks for supporting Thalía's recorded arts. And also TalkShopLive.

S: So, with that. Thalía, I think we kept them waiting far too long. So, this is Rodrigo who says 'Yes, it's official. You truly are the Queen of Latin Pop.'

S: If there was any questions, Thalía. That was now sanctioned.

T: Oh my God. I love these comments. Thank you for the love. Truly, my followers, my fans, my people, however you wanna called them. My family. They are so amazing with me. They allow me to be myself. To be crazy. To be creative. To be vulnerable. To be excited to fall... to stand up again. They're always support me and to help me better. Telling the true. I want to reinvent myself and to create things like this. To make them buy ??? to make them feel excited about life and about music.

S: Love that. So many expressions of love coming from Daniel Rojo, Magno Alejandro. We also have Penny who's also expressing her appreciation for you. Robert wants to know: 'Will you go to other countries to promote the new album Mixtape?

T: Yes! I would love to, of course! There's always that invitation. I'm totally open to go and I love it. I love to touch base with tons of different territories and different countries. I, of course, love to get my luggage ready and go! And this projects allow us to touch base with that nostalgia to those songs that got us like together, right?

S: Right.

T: To connect us. So yeah you never know. You never know when I'm gonna be there visiting you.

S: Ready to go. Gabriella there's is here from Los Angeles, California. And there's a plea for you to come to Brazil and and he says 'I'm a little boy and don't and I'm missing you you're my dream', so... Rodrigo.

T: Kisses. Kisses to all of you guys. I'm so happy to hear this comments and that you're reading them to me. It makes me so so happy.

S: There's many of them here. We can spend a couple hours just doing that doing this, for sure. Angelo says 'I want you to know that... that he's has been a fans since 1997 and he used to wait for ??? to be delivered to Lebanon. How about that?

T: Wow! I love it! I love that. That is exciting too.

S: It really is.

T: That is really really cool and exciting! And... yeah I had to say that now with social media I am finally connected with so many fans like now. Like you just mentioned... Lebanon, right? Brazil, right? So it's really beautiful, like, how social media connected immediately and you can answer comments or sending DMs to some of them and talk about.. So, I think it's really cool. It's beautiful.

S: It really is. Gabriella and Jose want to know: 'when are we getting a new tour?' It's been a while hasn't it?

T: That's exciting! It's a good idea. And I think... also like... this Mixtape will be cool. Thalía's Mixtape on tour will be fun. Will be exciting.

S: ???

T: So many mixtape because I don't know if people right now... the younger generation that are here connected with those. But in the era of the mixtapes... that now is the era of the playlist... the tracklist, right? We created mixtapes for any occasions, right? For the like mixtape for the road, mixtape for the road trip, mixtape for the heart break, mixtape for whatever sadness or happiness or party. So, it would be fun to create like a show with all these capsules of mixtapes.

S: What a great idea.

T: Like a machine. Like a travel machine.

S: Get your people on that. Would you, Thalía?

T: Let's do it! Let's do it! Rock and roll!

S: Absolutely! I can't say it that way. So, I'm not even gonna try to tap that. So, I...

T: You can roll you Rs!

S: I'm going to work on it before the night's over. So Persiana Americana, another one I love. Keyboards. Give us a little bit of that 80s flavor, upbeat-driving track. Originally recorded by Soda Stereo in 1986. I think this one, folks, is worth the price of mission alone. And, Sam, heads up. Let's listen to a bit of this track again from Thalía's Mixtape. Persiana Americana. Sam, if you would mind queuing it up so we can hear a little bit.

--- Plays preview of Persiana Americana ---

S: I love that song. Persiana Americana.

T: Persiana Americana and Soda Stereo is everything. It's everything. Such an iconic band. And the beauty about this is we have two versions of Persiana Americana. So the version of the album, that is the one we just listen to, and the version that it is coming in the episodes. In that version, I get to talk to Charly Alberti. He's the drummer of the original band Soda Stereo. And I get to to touch base up about the creation of this song about their impact in youth. You know, back then and today what is the responsibility to keep the message going. And while the conversation was happening, of course, I'm pinching myself... like... you know... I've been trying to like don't scream and don't cry and I just don't know if I could control myself because I got to tell him 'I'm shaking in front of you'. Because I didn't meet them before. I met him there. So... and then in this conversation, his brothers were there. If we were in the studio and he said do you want a sing this song with me... like... the guys are here, we could just go ??? And I'm like: 'Yeah!'

S: Yeah! That took you like a half of second...

T: '... of course!'

T: That is a moment. That magic, that original Charly Alberti playing the drums of like the version of Persiana Americana at the original is there. It's there. So it's a special in Paramount+ that you cannot missed and it's gonna be impressive and exciting!

S: Yeah. We gonna share a little snippet...

T: You didn't play! You didn't play a little bit of Pachuco. You did not play Pachuco.

S: I did... well... yeah. If we had two hours I would play every single track.

T: Exactly.

S: They're that good. Yeah. So Me Cuesta Tanto Olvidarte.

T: Oh, yeah.

S: Yeah. This one definitely transported me to the 80s, for sure. Fun track. It's got a great arrangement. Passionate vocal from you. I think the original was released in 1986.

T: Yeah. Me Cuesta Tanto Olvidarte. Of course, Mecano, right? And even though I don't know if they fit in the rock en español category that I think they do but it was the era. And when I met her one time like long time ago probably was like 16 and I was, you know, getting ready in the studios for a performance. And I was, like, in makeup... in the makeup area and was in there... they were like fixing my makeup and then I just go like that. And then Anna just standing(?) next to me. 'Cause they had to fix our makeup in order to get into the shows and I was like... like that. And then she look at me and she said: 'Hi! I am... I am Ana'. And I: 'I'm Thalía'. 'Hola! Soy Ana'. 'Hola! Soy Thalía'. I'm just like... looking straight but like... I was like: 'I can't believe it! I can't believe it! I can't believe it!'. And I, you know... I'm just singing this song and this song is such a classic because it talks about a relationship. A love that you decided to end but yet you repent so much of your whole life, right? So it touched that little vessel in their heart.

S: You know this project is completely full circle, right? Because, you know, you're now reliving again... kind of, you know... the seeds that were planted. You know... to the great talent you are now. And being all that hard work... you know... led you to this ability to be able to not only relive your, you know, your teenage years but again to meet these incredible artists that so heavily influence you as a person not just as a singer and musician.

T: Exactly! 'Cause you know what happened back then, it was just very... like... everything was very tight, right? So, it was really tight and especially you're a woman even worse back then.

S: Right.

T: So... but yet these people they managed to be themselves and it was okay to be themselves. So, I had that... okay I can what I feel. It's okay. It's not wrong... like... they're saying is wrong. No! I can express myself. I can dress it however I want. I can say whatever I want to music, to a single, to whatever. I just can express myself. That's good. That's... that's okay

S: That's right.

T: So... they gave me this kind of, like, hope and this kind of like strength and all that made me bulletproof.

S: I love that. You mentioned the Walkman and I've just thinking about... you know... what you and in other young ladies had to go through. What things were kind of a little difficult? There's still not complete equality. We've got all still a long ways to go but we're making progress. You're with a terrific company Sony. They... they're passionate about you as an artist. So, I'm gonna reach... just put put a little bit of a... I think a request out there. I think that we should see a version of the Walkman. The Walkwoman released in honor of Thalía.

T: I love it! Yes!

S: Right!

T: Let's do that!

S: Okay! We're on it.

T: I love that! We're on it!

S: Alright!

T: Who said that?

S: Roll over it. We are making... we are making calls after this.

T: Applause! I love it! I love it!

S: So, just a few weeks premiering, it's Tuesday May 2nd in the United States, in the Canada and the rest of the world...

T: Next week!

S: Yeah.

T: Actually next week is the album and then the series yet... is May 2nd.

S: The series...

T: This May 2nd. May 3rd for the rest of the world for the most part. And it's a three-part music docuseries as you said. Around the Thalía's Mixtape: El Soundtrack de mi Vida (The Soundtrack of My Life). Can be seen, as you said previously, through MTV and Paramount+. The wonderful people at MTV. So, let's take a look now at what we can expect from this three-part docuseries. So, Sam if you would please roll the digital.

--- Plays the Paramount+ promo video ---

S: I think is a brief shot of the Walkwoman! If I'm not mistaken.

T: It was the Walkman... The Walkman.

S: Ah, ok...

T: Not yet the Walkwoman. It just has have not to be pink. If you think... like... it has to be pink? No!

S: No!

T: We have to create our Walkwoman! Yes! I love it!

S: That's right! Okay. I'm not letting that one go. So, listen. So, this whole idea has been floating around for four years and... right? I think and this whole docuseries is kind of central to leading as, you said, to the music project.

T: Yeah, yeah. So... so this is how it happened. So... 2019. Summer. I have to escape my home because, like, the kids... the whole thing! The work! Everything! So, I just went into my car. I went for a drive because I love to drive. You know, like, I really love and I enjoy long rides. And playing my music.

S: Solitude and yeah

T: Love it! Like... opening the windows having in the little breeze... and thinking and listening to music. So, I touch base with those songs that... I don't know you... but in my case, I have, like, some songs in that compartment in my heart

S: Right.

T: We'll start this song that I do not play often. I saved them for special occasions. And, like, if I don't have to touch them for decades, I don't touch it because the memories are so beautiful that I don't want to spoil them... or you know...

S: Right.

T: I don't want it to lose the shine. So, I said... like... okay let's listen to these songs... my mixtape... my original and I played it. And it was like... boom! Like... download the whole image. The idea. The whole thing. And 2019... 2020... pandemic!

S: Right.

T: All the pandemic stopped the world but not me. 2020 was for me to get my allies. To start getting my allies. To start getting everybody pregnant. To start getting everybody excited about! 2021... I took action. I start getting into... like... how can I contact my idols? And like that! 2022 we filmed. We spent all the process of editing. Of doing the correct animation of adding the parts that I needed. Selecting the right audio's, mixing, mastering the music. The whole thing. And we're here. So, yeah. It was like four years of on a road trip and I'm just so happy. I'm so thankful.

S: The docuseries, it looks fantastic. Really looking forward to it again. I've been fortunate to be able to hear the entire album and I can say you really delivered on that front. So, folks, again. May 2nd the United States and Canada. The rest of the world on May 3rd. Is when you'll find the first broadcast. Again it's on Paramount+. Thanks to the fine folks at MTV

S: So, Rayando el Sol. Beautiful version! Again, the Queen of Latin Pop yet again shines. And I want to try to get to every track because I know we only have ??? for an hour. It's just flying by. So, forgive me. But I want to make sure we touch on everyone. Para No Verte Más. This song is pure musical party, man. It's a celebration. It's impossible after listening to this song not to walk away smiling and just feeling... you know... just feeling good in general. Great production here and that you have a special guest on this particular track.

T: Yes! We have Kenia Os from the new wave of young kids ready to take over the world. And I love that. She reminds me a lot of me when I was starting my solo career. So, that's what I thought it was such an exciting feature. You know... like... the two of us we have some kind of spice, something special in that... in that song... in the video, of course. Very, like, dramatic. Very like a set of a soap opera. And that was part of the whole thing. And again, touching base with the new generation through the digital platforms and bringing this massive master hits anthems and with the seal of approvement by them. So I'm really thankful. Thankful to thought about this project and to have it here to present it to you. And to all the people that believe in my idea. Not just Paramount+ or MTV. But by my team. Right? My team. That just from the beginning, they were like... 'Okay... but that's just amazing. But tell me more about this and how can we get these...'. So they got involve with it. from day one and I'm very thankful.

S: That's so great! A lot of is a Brazilian living in Las Vegas in the United States. ??? of four years in Mexico city. I know the Mexico City means a lot to you. And 11 years in Madrid.

T: ??? the life eh?

S: Yeah! She calls herself the citizen...

T: Travelling now in Las Vegas... come on!

S: Yeah!

T: ... that's a good life!

S: ... needs a T-shirt because she's self-proclaimed a citizen of the world. I think she qualifies. And she said...

T: She can have this T-shirt!

S: Yeah. There you go. There you go. Look at that, Alana! See, it pays to send out your thoughts. So, she just says it's also reflects the soundtrack of her life and she's very emotional about it. So, obviously resonates. There's so many people. The internet is blowing up thanks to you and this show. ??? says that: 'you're the best I love you I'm excited and dying to listen to Mixtape. And that's, again, my queue to say that we're celebrating the brand new album that's also tied to the docuseries. Again, it's Thalía's Mixtape and the Queen of Latin Pop delivers one of the best albums of her amazing career. And you had a chance to sample some of it, hopefully we'll get to another track or two. Before the... we hit the bewitching hour. But the album is officially released,as Thalía said, on Friday April 28th. And then the following week, of course, we have the docuseries. But fans can purchase their copies right now of the album. And that's not all. She's personally signed copies of the album purchased here at TalkShopLive. And again...

T: So, explain to me where they click to get it? I mean... explain to me...

S: So... there is a... yeah... absolutely. So, there is a 'Buy' button literally on their screen while they're watching this. Now, when they click the buy button, they can simply take a couple of steps and they can purchase this autographed copy that... and look at all those that she hands signed. While we still watching...

T: Look how my hand is... this is how my hands...

S: Look at that! It's... it's sad. It's a sad story.

T: Like a chicken!

S: Yeah! Let's just hope she doesn't have to play guitar anytime soon.

T: I have my guitars here.

S: I know I saw those! So, we just want to let everybody know, again, it's super quick and easy. And music is the universal language. There's no better way to show a great artist how much you really love and appreciate them. And that's simply by purchasing and supporting their latest body of work. Thanks so much for supporting Thalía and the recording arts and TalkShopLive.

S: Cuando Seas Grande. This is another one I love. Upbeat, energizing. I keep going back this one. This is a natural pop anthem and it's not like it's plagiarism but ABBA fans, I think will love this.

T: Yeah!

S: It kind of has a little bit of that field. It's classic.

T: This has that is a Miguel Mateo's classic song.

S: Yes.

T: This is not part of the documentary though but it is in the album. It's a great... you know... fun. I want to say fun. It's a great lyric right nowadays. It's just like... basically it's like saying you're young, you have so many dreams, so many things to do with your life. And you know... what can you do with your life before someone presses that button. So, it's just like... we are like... we are like we are living in a world that is very deep right now...

S: It's fragile. Yeah, it's fragile.

T: So, this song made so much sense to put it in the album and, yeah, I think, again, going back when... I think this album what it brings is that... that nostalgic feeling. That element. That we all need right those songs that make us feel in a safe place, right?

S: Right.

T: Those years when we were free. When we were careless.

S: That's right.

T: When we were happy and where we just... like... had dreams in our eyes... in our heart. So, it touches that... this song, it touched that. So, anyway... like... I'm very excited. There's also what makes me really really happy that is the medley

S: Yeah!

T: Because in the album we have a medley. I don't know if you remember. But, back then... you could do your 'medleys' in your in your double tape

S: I remember that very well! Yeah. And they used to released medley sometimes as a singles. If you remember that.

T: But did you try to make yours?

S: I did. Yeah. But I struggled a little bit with it. Exactly! The pause button!

T: 'Cause there was... like... the pause button!

S: Yeah. Wasn't quite as professional as you wanted but still.

T: That was raw because you were rushing in pressing that button was there

S: Yeah!

T: Anyway. So, I thought that as a bonus track. The album is ten songs but the bonus will be the Mixtape. So, I put together some of my favorites songs [Los] Toreros Muertos, from Charly García, from [Los] Amantes de Lola. So, it's just like so cool and the music is just... like... like... a big party. It's, like, you don't stop moving!

S: It is. And, Sam. I'm going to give you a heads up because I think it's great vocal performance throughout on this Mixtape Medley. So, I think based on that testimonial from Thalía that we should listen to a little bit of that. So...

T: ??? They'll gonna love it. And we also filmed a video apart. There's a video we did apart for the documentary. Because I think... I think it has the special life in this Mixtape.

S: Absolutely. And so, this is the Mix(tape) Medley. Actually, if we have that. Sam...

--- Plays preview of Medley ---

T: Yes! That's it!

S: Even if you can't dance. You're not a human being if you don't want to get in your car right now and go to a dance club. I mean... seriously that's just fantastic. And you don't get to hear the rest of it unless you buy it. So, you need to pick that up.

S: La Muralla Verde. Oh my gosh. Angelic vocal here. Beautiful arrangement. Great dynamics in a rocking guitar performance as well. You also have a couple of guests on this particular track.

T: This is an epic song by [Los] Enanitos Verdes...

S: Yes.

T: ... and I thought that the lyrics are really powerful because it says... like... I'm standing on the wall that looks at my past and looks at my future. So, it's kind of like that, the lyrics. It's my... my translation is not that correct but it's kind of the idea. And I thought, like, it would be so incredible to invite this kids that are breaking now the rules on music by coming out through YouTube or through TikTok. And getting their crowd together and the people that like their music and ruling the charts. So, I reach out for a girl that blew my mind away that is Bruses. Bruses... I love because she's just a voice. She has her personality. She plays what she wants and I respect and I love that. And Ben Carrillo that I found his voice so peculiar and so unique and so refreshing. And I thought it was... it was going to be a perfect mix for this song.

S: And I love his outfit by the way, too.

T: He's so??? and he's so cool!

S: It is!

T: His outfit is everything!

S: I couldn't pull that off but it's amazing he does.

T: Okay. Let me tell you that. That outfit it's like a mix of... like... it's like... he's hformal but he's like super sexy and super avant garde. I think I love it! I love it! And the video is super cool because he's breaking the rules in a corporate world and is going there and disturbing everything. And pulling everything apart. And that was a video and it's part of the docuseries Thalía's Mixtape: The Soundtrack of My Life.

S: You know... what's great about the... you telling us that vision that you had was you could have just stayed focused on the 80s and early 90s. You know... just focus on that and the artist from that time but you're... I mean... you're truly the Queen of Latin Pop bridging generations by also realizing that wouldn't it be great to have today's talent brought in to the Mix(tape). And as we said from the beginning, great music is great music. Doesn't matter when it was written. It stands the test of tim.

T: 100%. And in this episode, like I told you before, like... I'm starting to like... for example, my son ask me a question when I was talking about Mixtape and the idea and all these years working on it. So, my son kept asked me: 'Ma... but please explain to me again'. So, in this piece of plastic. In this cassette right in this little threads in here, right? In there, there's songs. So, how songs are there?

S: Yeah.

T: And I was like:'great question, son! Because, I'm asking you this.'

S: Wow!

T: '... how the songs are getting stored in the cloud?' Like... do you know where is the cloud? No! So, that made me land all of these through the episodes telling the story of the evolution of music. And for instance, this collaboration with Bruses and with Ben in La Muralla Verde takes place in the episode where I talk about Web3, NFTs, artificial intelligence. So, it's a perfect fit.

S: That's incredible! And if there's any question as to whether or not that was your son. That question answers the simple question. Yes, that is your son. What a great question.

T: Great question!

S: Absolutely.

T: Curiosity!

S: What's his name?

T: Matthew Alejandro.

S: Matthew Alejandro. My heads off to you. You're a smart young man!

S: Absolutely. So, Lucha de Gigantes. A glorious closer for this album. Beautiful haunting. Pure vocal. Great production. This is an amazing track and it makes sense for it to be the last one.

T: Oh my God. This is a song that really... it's been with me... like... forever. Like... is that kind of song that every time that you are in a crossway in your life. Like... you're like... like... don't know. Like, I play this song because the lyrics remind me that we are fighting with monsters, right?. We are constantly fighting with this monsters.

S: Yup.

T: But to me the interpretation that I give it is... like... the monsters that we create in our mind. The monsters that we give power to... you know... huge... you're in control of who you give the power to. You give your power to positive people. Positive ways to perceive life or to negativit, criticism, pulling people down, destroy them with that comments... with that energy. So, where you're gonna place your power? So, that song gives me that.

S: Absolutely. And with that, I think it's really important that we share a bit of that song. Are you good? You have a couple minutes still?

T: Yes! I love it! Come on!

S: Awesome. So, let's listen to a bit of this and I will talk a little bit more about it. Sam, if you wouldn't mind.

--- Plays preview of Lucha de Gigantes ---

S: This is absotuley beautiful. It's glorious.

T: I get like... into this like... mindset with this song. It's just like a trip. It's beautiful.

S: Yeah. Takes you to a special place. This is a kind of song, I think, just like you've expressed. We have special songs when you're growing up that you kind of park and, you say, for special occasions to bring back out. And this is that kind of a song that I think people will come back and revisit. Yeah.

T: I have this...

S: Goosebumps...yeah.

T: I'm so excited.

S: Yeah! Absolutely. Yeah. No question about it. I... you know... we're gonna talk to the fans a little bit more. Again, there's so many of them. But I wanted to ask you about Mexico. Look, I'm a citizen of the United States. I've got immigrant grandparents but you know I feel like Mexico has gotten a pretty raw deal in some cases as far as the town in our country. And it's a beautiful country. It's not without its problems. Just like America as well. But, you know, I wanted to just give you an opportunity since you're a product of Mexico City. Just to share with us. Yeah. The beauty that you find behind the country that produced such a great talent as you. So, I felt it's important to give you an opportunity to speak about the country.

T: What can I tell you? It's my country, is everything. I'm so happy to be a Mexican and to travel the world and bring in with me my culture, my music, my DNA, my flag. Wherever I go and when they find that I'm a Mexican. They are like 'wow! Mexico! It's beautiful! We love the music... love to go there and travel'. It's just a wonderful place with incredible people. Really good, amazing people. And the culture is so rich. And it's endless. Endless. The beauty that Mexico has. And everything that it offers, no? Not just like a vacation spot with great places and hotels and gastronomy... but... like... the people are great. Fun. Music. The culture. The painters. The everything.

S: The cuisine. The food is amazing...

T: Ooooh my God! Stop it! The tacos, ??? I love... I love... and I love to be Mexican. I love... I'm proud of my country.

S: Thanks for sharing that. I just thought that it was important that we touched on that because you're a great representative of... you know...

T: And you know how we say, '¡Viva México!'

S: There you go! Somebody should run across the screen like your son with the flag now. Yeah! There you go.

T: Okay!

S: It's a virtual. We can... we can... ??? So, I know some people we're going to pull a favor. Our good friend behind the scenes. Sam is going to queue up Pachuco. We can't say goodbye without ???

T: Woooh! Yes, yes! Pachuco has really...

S: So, Sam if you would...

T: By the way. Applause to Sam. 'Cause he's an amazing DJ in the whole show.

S: Yeah. Absolutely. She's available for parties, by the way. So, but she's expensive. Rightfully so. So here's Pachuco.

--- Plays preview of Pachuco ---

T: I love it!

S: Hey. Do you think you can give me Roco's number so he could take me shopping for clothes after hearing that.

T: Yes! Totally!

S: Aww that would be awesome!

T: I'm telling you! I'm telling you Roco has an energy. Like... this guy doesn't stop. He's like very kinetic. You know. And I totally got it. And when I met him, I said... like... you know... I said to myself only... 'oh my God! Now I totally understand!'

S: Yeah.

T: Why... why he created this monster! Like this is a monster song.

S: That's right. It's incredible

T: And... yeah. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I'm telling you I did a big cardio when I was recording this song because it's a non-stop cardio.

S: Right

T: You have to keep it going

S: I know I'm exhausted just listening to it. Totally.

T: The real instruments. You know... the trumpets. I really miss that. I needed that.

S: Yeah. For sure. That definitely adds to it. Daniel is saying: 'hugs and kisses from California'.

T: Beso!

S: And also Rojo says: 'Viva Mexico!'

T: ¡Viva México!

S: There you go! Jose says: 'Viva Mexico!'. So they're all coming out of the woodwork now.

T: Everyone celebrating Mexico!

S: There you go. Absolutely.

T: Our beautiful homeland!

S: And you know what. Everybody's in agreement. The surveys in. And Pachuco is a smash.

T: The Pachuco is... it was always mad and now with Roco... like... doing it again and being so generous to fusion his jam with us. Again, me as a fan for the fans of this era. It's such a gift. It's just like when you are fan of certain movement. And when you get to talked to this heroes and when you get to stay with them is just like that dream come true. It's just magical

S: I understand. I wasn't able to do sessions but... you know... just like... you know... having this time with you. I'm very blessed to be able to speak to some incredibly gifted and talented people that... you know... that inspire you.

T: Yeah. You're amazing. Thank you for this time. This interview. This platform that connects us. And it's so cool to be here in TalkShopLive with all your followers. And then my followers together. And talk about music because we need to talk about music...

S: Me too.

T: ... and the things that inspire us... you know... sharing that

S: Yeah. I couldn't agree more. Absolutely. And with that again. I just want to remind our friends and amigos today is cause for great celebration. The new Thalía album is finally coming. T: Those are little pieces of... two or three hours of me signing all of them.

S: Yeah!

T: But at the end it was a mountain.
